"‘That Attitude Book’ is the ultimate student
self-help guide without pretending to perform miracles.”
"According to self-help books it’s easy
to get fit, lose weight, gain confidence, stop stress, quit smoking and
have a fantastic sex life all before breakfast. What none of these
self-help books seems to notice is that if it really was that easy then
we’d already be fit, slim, confident, stress-free, non-smoking sex Gods,
which we blatantly aren’t. With this in mind, may I present ‘That
Attitude Book’ by Graham Pepper, a handy pocket sized booklet full of
practical advice and favoured by Dame Judi Dench no less.
Behind the cover ‘That Attitude Book’ reads like a textbook. By this I
mean it has everything you need in order to learn about getting positive
and minimising stress. Pepper provides exercises, examples and straight
forward lingo that makes it all very easy to understand and, more
importantly, use.
One of the best features of this book are the quotes that crop up on
most pages. Confucius, Abraham Lincoln, Walt Disney and even Doctor Who
contribute nuggets of useful, practical and memorable advice.
The only downside is a few pages on your ‘mind garden’ and how it needs
weeding, cultivating and the sunshine of positive thoughts. Then again,
this is a self-help book and where would it be without some kind of
natural metaphor? The book is practical, sensible and a wealth of good
advice for anyone who should choose to flick through it.”
