Sharon Hilditch

Sharon Hilditch created her company, Crystal Clear International Ltd, manufacturing skincare treatment machines and products, in 1995, with an £8,000 bank loan.

Brought up in a working class family in Liverpool, Sharon was afflicted by a severe hearing problem, affecting her ability to concentrate in school. She left with no qualifications, but this was not going to curb her determination to create a successful business.

Today, the company has a massive celebrity following, supplying global stars like Madonna, Cindy Crawford and Victoria Beckham. Crystal Clear is on target for sales of £8m in 2005, exports to 20 countries and has an aggressive expansion plan in place including an exclusive range of products aimed at major department stores in the UK and overseas.

Sharon was named winner of the NatWest everywoman Award 2004. She sits on the board as a non-executive Director for Business Liverpool and the Entrepreneurship Commission – two organisations devoted to encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit among young businesses.
