John Kearon

John Kearon is a graduate of Unilever's management programme. Working for Unilever, as senior marketer at Elida Gibbs, he launched three new brands and at 29 became one of London's youngest ever Advertising Planning Directors.

John admits that “the vision of being a successful entrepreneur crept up on me.” In 1996, he set up Brand Genetics, a successful marketing agency and in January 2000 founded BrainJuicer Limited

Realising that market research was a long and laborious process, John felt that an internet-based system would speed things up and could be operated at a lower cost than traditional methods. He backed his hunch by pouring his savings into the BrainJuicer project and admits this was a very challenging time.

After a year, the business secured Nike as a client. From that point on, BrainJuicer has gone from strength to strength, doubling in size every six months and has since worked with household names such as the BBC, Cadbury’s and Boots.

John's perseverance is certainly paying off – BrainJuicer is expanding around the globe, with offices set to open in Holland, the USA, China and Australia and is picking up awards along the way. In 2004 it won “Service Business of the Year”,  the T-Mobile-sponsored “StartUps Awards"; and "Most Innovative Use of IT Award".

“Chief Juicer” John was voted one of the “Entrepreneurs of the Year 2004” at the National Business Awards sponsored by Orange and is now a popular speaker at research & marketing conferences all over the world.
