Endorsements from Business Entrepreneurs
Gemma Stone

Gemma Stone is the founder of Rock and Ruby. She sees
herself as “probably part of the smallest statistic of entrepreneurs
- under 30, female, mother of two, without a degree.”
As a teenager, Gemma always dreamt of running her own business and in
early 2004, aged 27, circumstances gave her the opportunity. She had
worked at Granada Television for ten years, when the company announced
its merger with Carlton Television. Told that her position as an events
manager did not exist in the new company, she took redundancy in her
stride and decided that it was an opportune moment to set up her own
company. Gemma invested her redundancy money along with her savings; and
with her partner Steve, set up Rock and Ruby.
Since launching the business, Gemma has
seen it go from strength to strength, organising
ceremonies for the South Bank Awards, the
What the Papers Say Awards and the Startups
Awards. Rock and Ruby has gained an
impressive list of clients, ranging from Tesco to
the London Film Festival.
