Caroline
Rowland

Caroline Rowland is the founder and Group Managing
Director of New Moon television production company. She is
the producer behind the inspirational London 2012
Olympics bid videos.
Sport has always been a passion for Caroline. Throughout
university she ran an aerobics and personal training business, before
setting up a sports PR business. She is an
enthusiastic horsewoman and a former international swimmer.
Her first career was in advertising.
It was whilst working for J Walter Thompson that she
decided she wanted more independence than a large company could give
her. Caroline wanted to focus on the television production process – her
passion – and take charge, rather than being a very small cog in a very
large wheel. She started New Moon in 1997, initially run from a bedroom
in her house.
New Moon was invited to pitch in August 2004 for
Sport at Heart, the promotional video for the London 2012 bid, along
with 11 other production companies. The resultant video Make Britain
Proud has been hugely successful. Says Caroline: "We wanted to
capture the fun, humour and exuberance of London by peppering it with
celebrities." But it was New Moon's film Inspiration,
"about kids around the world being inspired",
which captured the world's attention at the IOC
presentation in Singapore on 6th July 2005; and led Mayor Ken Livingstone
to say the film's powerful message "won us the Olympics"...
With the success of London's 2012 Olympics bid,
both Caroline and New Moon are getting wider recognition and success.
As well as being in Who's Who of
Britain’s Young Entrepreneurs, BAFTA’s Academy Magazine
recently described her as a “hot young talent” in the British
Film Industry.
