Alistair
Gosling

Al Gosling is founder and CEO of the
Extreme Group. “Extreme” might be Al's middle name! He developed
a passion for extreme sports during his early teens and following a
number of jobs went on to found a business that would rapidly grow into
the Extreme Group.
In 1995, aged 24, Al set up Extreme International, with
the goal of establishing the worlds leading Extreme Sports TV Company.
He started out filming snowboarding, skateboarding and skydiving.
Running on a shoestring budget, from an office in a converted barn more
akin to a surf-shack than the headquarters of a fast growing media
company, Al rapidly agreed a number of deals with producers and
broadcasters to sell and distribute extreme and action sports television
programs all over the world.
Extreme Sports Channel, the world’s first channel
dedicated to extreme sports and lifestyle, now has 20 million
subscribers and is broadcast in 58 countries and 11 languages.
Al's vision, drive
and guidance has seen Extreme Group grow into a
collection of businesses, all with connected branding, totally ingrained
into current youth culture.
Al has branched out into every corner of the extreme
sports universe, with Extreme Drinks, Extreme Retail,
Extreme Events and Extreme Entertainment.
Extreme Group now employs over 250 people,
with 2005 sales of £40 million and
representation in over 60 countries around the world.
Al's latest venture ExtremeMob,
launched in summer 2005, is the UK’s first pre-pay
mobile phone service designed exclusively for everyone that loves the
"extreme" lifestyle.
Al remains passionate
about the sports that give him his drive for the business and when not
in the office you'll find him windsurfing, kite surfing, flying, skiing
and ice climbing when ever and where ever he can.
